Young Artists Photography Workshops

The Young Artists Photography Workshops, led by BAFTA-winning artist Alison Jackson and her team of top postgraduate professionals, inspire creativity and skill development in young photographers across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC).

About the Workshops

These workshops are open to participants aged 5-24, welcoming children and young people of all learning abilities, technological skills, and English proficiency levels. For many attendees, this is their first time using professional cameras. Our trainers provide one-on-one support to ensure every participant feels confident and empowered.

Workshops cover a variety of photographic styles and skills, including:

  • Sports and action photography (with Chelsea FC)
  • Fashion photography (featuring brands like Stella McCartney, North Face, Nike, and Adidas)
  • Documentary and photojournalism
  • Portraits, Fine Art, and advertising photography
  • Exploring creative platforms like social media and traditional outlets

What We Provide

Each session equips participants with:

  • Hands-on experience using 24 professional cameras and lenses
  • Guidance to translate phone photography skills to professional equipment
  • Expert mentorship from Alison Jackson and her team

The program concludes annually with the Young Artists Photography Competition, offering exciting prizes like cameras, exclusive short courses at top institutions (UAL, Royal College of Art, Heatherley’s College of Art), and exhibition opportunities.

We’re expanding our program to include creative career mentorships and apprenticeships, helping young talent navigate the professional world of photography and beyond.
